What is a K1 Fiancee Visa?
The K1 fiancee visa
allows foreigners to come to the United States for the purpose
of marrying a U.S. citizen and to live in the United States.
There are generally two categories of visas immigration visas

letters from A-V. Some examples of non-immigrate visas are
tourist visas, student visas and K1 fiancee visas.
The K1 fiancee visa allows foreigners to come to the United
States for the purpose of marrying a U.S. citizen and to live in
the United States. This is the only recognized visa for
immigration into the United States to marry. The K1 visa is a
single entry visa that is obtained after your fiancée has the
interview at a U.S. consulate where he/she resides. This visa is
not issued if the fiancée is already in the U.S.
When the visa is issued it is good for six months; once the visa
is used to come to the United States the visa converts to a 90
day stay. The couple must marry with in 90 days. If a marriage
doesn’t take place with in the 90 days your fiancee must leave
the United States the rules are very strict. (Visit or FAQ's to
learn more about the details related to all visas).
As long as the marriage takes place your fiancée is allowed to
stay in the United States. After marriage you will need to
adjust your fiancée’s status and apply to become a permanent
resident “green card” holder based on your marriage. Eventually
he/she can apply for U.S. citizenship. The U.S. allows dual
Citizenship.
CHILDREN:
The fiancée’s unmarried children under the age of 21 can be
included in the parent’s petition and receive the K2 visa with
the same privileges as the parent’s K1 fiancée visa. An
application for the child to become a U.S. permanent resident
